Prepare a smaller PDF for an upload

Check the upload requirement first

Read the receiving site’s allowed file type and maximum file size. Keep your original document. Reducing file size and changing page dimensions are different operations; make sure you are solving the requirement the site actually specifies.

PDF Size Helper offers free local PDF and image preparation, including size requirements, page arrangement, combining and splitting supported inputs.

Prepare a separate copy

1. Add the supported PDF or images you want to prepare. If necessary, arrange the pages into the order the recipient expects.
2. Set the relevant size requirement and prepare the result. Read the reported output size; a target is not a guarantee.
3. Review the preview, then save the prepared file to a new destination so your original remains available.

All document tools are free. Processing happens on your PC rather than a document-upload server. A file saved into a cloud-synced folder may still be uploaded by that separate service.

Check quality and acceptance

Look closely at small text, signatures, stamps, diagrams and photographs. A smaller file may involve a quality tradeoff. Some inputs cannot reach a chosen size while retaining an acceptable result.

The app has technical limits of 50 inputs, 250 MiB per file, 500 PDF pages and 100 megapixels per image. Supported PDF structures vary by operation; protected or unsupported files may be refused.

Check the actual saved file size, then try the upload. Only the receiving site can confirm that it accepts the file.
