Turn a Windows workflow into a step-by-step guide
Explain a task once. Give someone instructions they can follow later.
Choose one task and a clear outcome
A useful guide starts with a specific job: setting up a tool, completing a form, or following an internal process. Write down who it is for, what they need before starting, and what a successful result looks like.
Prepare a harmless example before recording. Close unrelated windows and use sample information wherever possible.
Capture, edit and review
- In Stepfolio, select the window or screen and start a capture session. Pause or stop when private information is visible.
- Organize the captured steps. Give each step a clear instruction and annotate the relevant screenshot.
- Remove unnecessary steps, redact private details and inspect the preview from the reader’s perspective.
Capture, editing, saving, preview and redaction remain free. You can replace a screenshot later without rewriting the entire guide.
Export the format your reader needs
Stepfolio includes two successfully completed guide exports in total per Windows account. Choose PDF, DOCX or self-contained HTML. Exporting the same guide to two formats uses two exports; canceled or failed exports do not consume the allowance.
Stepfolio Pro is a one-time upgrade for unlimited completed exports. Microsoft Store supplies the actual local price. Earlier customers may retain unlimited exports; the product page explains eligibility.
Open the finished export and check that the instructions, screenshots and redaction are correct before sharing it. Portable projects and exports are not encrypted by Stepfolio. Redaction does not alter separate guides, backups or earlier exports.
